In Japan, during teahouse ceremonies, a piece of cloth was soaked in hot water and offered to travellers who stopped to rest.
This piece of cloth was called Oshibori. Preserved over the centuries in Asia, Oshibori is still the most common gesture of welcome practiced today.
To simplify this gesture of welcome, the proposed garment became a simple wet cotton towel. In 2013, Franck SALAMA, during a trip to Japan in the Nagoya region, decided to give back to the Oshibori its noble letters.
An entrepreneur at heart, and a man of the field. It is with a masterful hand that Franck leads the strategy of Oshibori Concept International.
In the spring of 2014, Liza Marshall joined the Oshibori Concept International adventure and gave it a new lease of life. With her extensive experience in the luxury goods industry, Liza is responsible for the commercial and operational development of the company.
Oshibori Concept is a team of professionals who work together to meet the needs of their clients and achieve their permanent satisfaction.
A common vision: To make Oshibori a standard of luxury codes on the international market.
Our promise: A high quality product – Made in France
Oshibori can be used hot, cold or simply at room temperature. Indeed, our towels can be put in their case a few seconds in the microwave, in the hot caby, in the oven or placed in the refrigerator a few hours before use.
In addition, the watertightness of the Oshibori Concept towels’ packaging guarantees 24 months of humidification and provides a comfort worthy of a Made In France cosmetic product.
All our products have: a 2-year shelf life, tested under dermatological control and evaluated for skin and eye safety.
Unlike most cosmetic products, Oshibori respects all skin types.
To contribute to the defence of employment, to the safeguarding of the French economy and to guarantee a superior quality to its products, Oshibori Concept chooses Made In France.
In a region with high unemployment, Oshibori Concept sets up its production in Douai and employs disabled people in part. Oshibori Concept is committed to respecting the requirements of the European regulation 1223/2009 on cosmetic products, to following commercial standards and to the quality of its productions, our Oshibori are certified ISO 22716 since April 2018 by Intertek.
The establishment of our “Made in France” factory has enabled us to automate the Oshibori production line with an unequalled manufacturing quality and a certified, confidential and protected know-how.
