OUJI GAMA Pottery was established about 250 years ago. Since its founding, our masterpiece product has been Suribachi mortars that are fired at 13 climbing kilns.
We’ve changed the firing fuel from firewood to heavy oil in 1968, and then we’ve started producing our own Shino-glaze Suribachi. We also produce tea utensils and vases.
Our artisans produce Shino-glaze (blue white) Suribachi using fine clays come from Seto. Its surface is jagged, but solid. So heavy-duty and sustainable.
Shino-glaze Suribachi well fired by heavy oil gives you a plumpy and a warm impression.
