Sculptural and unique design
This China vase features a face in relief, depicted on both sides of the object. The vase is punctuated by delicate iconographic motifs in Gold. Sculptural and atypical, Jonathan Adler’s Muse vases are unique in that they poetically and surrealistically bring out in relief body parts (bits of face, bits of breasts…) borrowed from those idealized women whom our greatest artists have taken as their muses.
Internationally-renowned ceramist, designer, interior architect and assemblager Jonathan Adler first developed a passion for Terracotta, exhibiting his first collection of pottery at Barneys in New York in 1993. Earth is the Base of my work and always will be,” says Jonathan Adler. For each ceramic piece in the collection, a prototype is handmade in Clay in Jonathan Adler’s workshop in New York’s ultra-trendy SoHo district
