13 years ago, Gemology was able to unveil a secret buried in the heart of minerals. After several years of research and thanks to a scientific approach, Gemology extracts the trace elements from minerals and integrates them into skincare.

Since then, our laboratories have been exploring the functions and benefits of these trace elements on the skin. Skin oligotherapy was born.

Lacks in trace elements are growing these days due to a poorer intake of trace elements : food and drink are poorer in trace elements, living conditions are more stressful… Hence, complementary sources of trace element are very important.

By bringing trace elements directly to the skin, their assimilation is immediate. They play a quick, direct and efficient role in solving all skin troubles.

Gemology goes beyond cosmetics with skin oligotherapy.

Plastic? We limit it. Our packs are refillable.

Controversial ingredients? We remove them.

Wasting paper? We ban it.

We use minerals as ingredients in our cosmetics, whose interest is established, but where do these minerals come from?

We use over 20 different natural minerals to develop and manufacture Gemology products.

The geographical origin of these minerals may vary but we always require a traceable origin and are committed to a long-term supply management.

Some minerals come from nearby regions, such as Peridot, which is found in large quantities in the Massif Central in France.

Others come from more distant regions, such as Tourmaline, Sapphire and Opal from Brazil or Jade from Asia.

We supply the natural stones in raw form and extract them in liquid form in France, using our own process.

These raw materials are natural but are they ethically responsible raw materials?

This question brings together two notions: Firstly, are these minerals produced ethically ?

Gemology has always made a point of ensuring that its suppliers extract the minerals under ethical conditions, without dubious financing or child labour.

Gemology decided several years ago to commit to a CSR policy without greenwashing, but in a firm step-by-step manner. Reduction of plastic packaging in favour of glass, recycled and recyclable plastic, sugar cane, elimination of unnecessary holds and leaflets, development of new natural and environmentally friendly formulas…

For example, our new concentrates and serums are 99.5% natural.

In this context, the use of natural resources must also be done, as we have just seen, within an ethical and reasoned framework.

The mineral is the only inexhaustible resource on earth and our source of inspiration.

On the other hand, is there any risk to nature from the use of minerals in cosmetics ?

Gemology uses minerals in reasonable quantities. The quantities used in cosmetics are anecdotal compared to other uses (industrial, jewellery, etc…)
